RaceDataViz
Project Description
RaceDataViz is a resource for equity-minded data designers. We offer consulting, training, and design services with a focus on visualizing race and ethnicity data.
Mission/Vision
We believe in the power of data visualization to identify inequity and advance action toward racial justice.
Goals
This year, we plan to launch a blog featuring promising practices in data visualizations alongside interviews with the designers/developers who created them.
Accomplishments
Following a workshop for data professionals in the University of California system, RaceDataViz founder Jacob Wong-Campbell was invited to serve as a consultant on a systemwide taskforce aimed at increasing multiracial-inclusive data practices.
Next Steps
This summer, RaceDataViz is partnering with the RP Group to provide a three-part learning series focused on strategies to disrupt quantitative monoracism across the California Community College system.
