Artificial intelligence reshaped the labor landscape in just a few short years and with rising concerns about affordability and economic stability, communities and organizations focused on equity and social impact cannot afford to be left behind. It has become clear that our communities need to make daring moves to create bolder, lasting change.
To meet the moment, we’re excited to announce the launch of Bolder Futures, a companion initiative to AAPI Data that leans into aspirational design and innovative thinking for social good. Grounded in collective imagination, social innovation, and intergenerational collaboration. Bolder Futures will help partners anticipate and adapt to disruptive conditions.
Building on the success of the 2025 Bolder Future Fellowship, which empowered a cohort of 15 young changemakers to tackle pressing social and community challenges, we’re announcing the next iteration of the Bolder Futures Fellowship: AI for Social Good, sponsored by Micron.
This fellowship will bridge the gap between emerging AI technology and the social sector, providing fellows with the hands-on, interactive training to develop the professional skills to thrive in a changing labor market. The fellowship will also help nonprofit organizations increase their organizational capacity. As AI continues to develop and transform work, it’s essential that nonprofit organizations are not left behind and are equipped with tools to continue innovating their mission-driven work.
We’re looking for candidates who are passionate about social impact and committed to advancing equity within underserved communities. To ensure that the fellowship directly benefits a nonprofit, we are also requiring applicants to have received a letter of support from a partner nonprofit organization. The AI for Social Good Fellowship is just one part of the larger Bolder Futures framework. In May 2026, the inaugural AAPI Bolder Futures Summit brought together nearly 100 community members to explore foresight and futures design. Our Youth Manifesto, drafted with a core group of youth participants, represents the daring dreams and visions of the next generation and informed innovative workshops during the summit. This summit was a powerful example of the movement work that becomes possible when generations move beyond perceived divides and identify shared values and goals.
Bolder Futures is also incubating social impact startups, such as RaceDataViz, an innovative platform to help data designers advance racial justice and Rooted Strength, a youth wellness program that draws on traditional practices like Yoga and Ayurveda to address mental health challenges. These startups are the seeds for sustainable solutions to the pressing issues of today, and Bolder Futures is proud to invest in community-driven projects.
